18:08:55<shapr>SHAZAM!
18:12:21<kaol>ACTION stares at hpaste's source
18:12:54<shapr>umm
18:13:40<Saizan>ah, how is resurrecting hpaste going?
18:14:19<shapr>HAppS is slowly rebuilding, I had a weird linking problem.
18:17:13<kaol>ACTION stares at the definitions of h, hs and hOut
18:24:34<kaol>when would I use each?
18:27:42<kaol>right, the wiki page's useful...
18:28:11<tuukkah>feel free to improve :-)
18:29:52<kaol>that would require that I understood something
18:30:22<sorear>ACTION doesn't understand any of happs.
18:30:32<shapr>Screen doesn't work when I've done "su eric" from root.
18:30:47<shapr>Last time I ran hpaste from my own account, but I wish there were a better solution.
18:30:59<tuukkah>what about su - eric
18:31:05<shapr>What does that do?
18:31:14<shapr>ohh
18:31:14<sorear>uses eric's dotfiles
18:31:17<shapr>ACTION tries that
18:31:17<tuukkah>it's different
18:31:22<tuukkah>=)
18:31:34<shapr>foo, same error :-(
18:31:47<shapr>"Cannot open your terminal '/dev/pts/1' - please check."
18:32:00<tuukkah>hm that one...
18:32:21<tuukkah>was there anything about that in the wiki ?-)
18:32:40<tuukkah>nope :-(
18:34:25<shapr>tuukkah: chmod ugo+rw /dev/pts/1
18:41:59<tuukkah>and if that doesn't feel secure enough, chown to target user seems to work too
18:42:27<shapr>grr, hpaste.org just doesn't respond
18:44:34<shapr>sorear: I'll try to fix it again later.
18:44:48<Saizan>i got the main page once..
18:45:05<shapr>I didn't get anything
18:45:13<shapr>whoa, it was up!
18:45:14<shapr>argh
18:45:16<shapr>and I just killed it
18:45:21<shapr>I bet it just takes that long to load state??
18:46:14<shapr>Ok, this time I'll just leave it for awhile.
18:47:14<shapr>sorear: yay!
18:47:21<sorear>Hurray!
18:48:46<sorear>The good news is that the spam filter is working.
18:49:00<sorear>The bad news is that the recent list still doesn't respond.
18:49:47<shapr>It works sometimes.. :-/
19:49:51<sorear>shapr: I'm making progress; it seems that HAppS assumes Connection: keep-alive if no connection header is sent.
19:50:02<sorear>I'll go check the RFC to see if this is legal.
19:50:23<shapr>sounds interesting
20:01:22<sorear>An HTTP/1.1 server MAY assume that a HTTP/1.1 client intends to maintain a persistent connection unless a
20:01:26<sorear>Connection header including the connection-token "close" was sent in the request. If the server chooses to
20:01:29<sorear>close the connection immediately after sending the response, it SHOULD send a Connection header including the
20:01:33<sorear>connection-token close.
20:01:49<sorear>So hpaste.org:8000 is DTRTing.
20:03:16<sorear>apparently we have an apache conf problem?
20:03:19<sorear>shapr:
20:04:36<shapr>er
20:05:45<shapr>ACTION blinks cluelessly
20:54:49<shapr>sorear: Any idea what needs to be changed in the apache conf?
21:13:15<sorear>shapr: No. All I know is that http://hpaste.org:8000 works and http://hpaste.org:80 doesn't.
21:15:03<shapr>weird
21:15:29<shapr>doesn't work for me
21:18:56<sorear>what doesn't work for you?
21:19:40<sorear>expect to see problems pasting to hpaste.org:8000, since it seems to do an absolute redirect to http://hpaste.org/
21:19:58<shapr>I can't view hpaste.org:8000
21:23:29<sorear>Interesting.
21:23:44<sorear>I can, but the request-sent stays
21:24:11<sorear>Maybe the issue is that the document doesn't end with a newline?
21:24:22<sorear>(is that totally ridiculous?)
21:25:06<shapr>no clue
21:34:08<sorear>ah: location: http://hpaste.org/1547
21:34:20<sorear>it IS generating absolute redirects
23:05:47<sorear>@seen alexj
23:07:03<shapr>sorear: Got any specific questions?
23:08:18<sorear>We need someone of superior experience to track down what changed between 0.9.0 and 0.8.4 that made HAppS incompatible with (your, but quite probably all) mod_rewrite setups.
