00:07:34<MarcWeber>mae: Then you need to start brain clustering ..
00:09:26<mae>heh
00:09:27<mae>expalin
00:09:30<mae>explain *
00:10:29<MarcWeber>That's the first time I hope that google is my friend
00:10:58<MarcWeber>I think a more common name is team work ..
00:21:13<mae>lol
00:21:20<mae>wanna hire me ; )
00:22:19<MarcWeber>What's your prize ? :) Don't think that I can afford you yet
00:22:45<MarcWeber>What are you working on?
00:25:39<mae>lol
00:25:48<mae>well i'm working in a small startup
00:25:59<mae>but i'm just slaving away and i'm not hopeful for the future
00:26:24<mae>i have experience in ajax/rails/c/ruby some erlang and now learning haskell..
00:26:36<mae>but yeah, what work do you do?
00:29:05<MarcWeber>Strong question.. Currently I've been working on getting nice haskell support within nix. (This means i only add the lib an I get tags automatically). The last 4 month I've been working on a booking system written PHP/Ajax/mootools to earn money to live. In the future I'd like to continue contributing to nix, start contributing to adempiere and maybe some day HAppS as well. But i'm still busy reading/ understanding code.
00:29:36<mae>here is my resume (although is is primarily targeted at non-tecchies hence the use of buzzwords like AJAX and rails.. ; )
00:30:11<mae>http://my.monster.com/Resume/ViewResume.aspx?resumevalue=4yfuf343gihgjbak
00:30:21<mae>yeah php my god, i don't envy you
00:30:31<mae>mysql too ?
00:31:07<MarcWeber>yes. And I also introduced a small reference bug causing big trouble
00:31:12<mae>sweet
00:32:03<MarcWeber>The only sweet thing using mysql is : mysql load dump speed and query caching. But that's it.
00:32:27<MarcWeber>mae: Do I have to login?
00:32:41<mae>i'm sorry that was a bunk link, here is the right one:
00:33:41<mae>ack monster makes you login, thats totally lame
00:34:48<mae>ok forget it, its not that exciting anyways
00:34:53<MarcWeber>ak
00:34:56<mae>just a laundry list of bum languages
00:35:01<mae>you know, the usual suspects
00:35:03<MarcWeber>should 've been ok
00:35:05<mae>c cpp php
00:35:15<mae>well actually i never learned php that well
00:35:17<mae>ACTION went on to ruby
00:35:51<MarcWeber>I'ld like to stop talking about ruby, PHP and so on and starting reading code again.
00:36:14<mae>ok, sorry to interrupt you.
00:36:24<MarcWeber>I let you do so :)
00:36:31<mae>i see
00:36:32<mae>where are you from
00:40:48<MarcWeber>germany
00:41:17<mae>i work with a guy named Marc from germany, interestingly enough ; )
00:45:20<mae>hey mark
03:25:36<mae>what is the difference between ask and get
03:59:08<mae>hmmm
03:59:08<mae> Couldn't match expected type `Proxy a'
03:59:09<mae> against inferred type `Language.Haskell.TH.Syntax.Name'
03:59:09<mae> In the first argument of `methods', namely 'BlogState
04:33:38<mae>could someone explain systemState
10:36:29<mightybyte>mae: ask is a function in the reader monad. get is a function in the state monad.
14:33:06<mae>thank you ; )
15:11:19<mae>hello peopl
21:27:50<Lycurgus>anybody around?
21:28:32<MarcWeber>yes
21:28:57<Lycurgus>are you familiar with happs?
21:29:27<MarcWeber>Not very much yet. But putting your question is a good idea in any case
21:30:44<Lycurgus>OK. I'm trying to figure out if when you do the darcs get are all the sources in darcs change sets and if so how do I get to them (just saying 'use darcs' is fine)?
21:32:26<MarcWeber>Lycurgus: Whats what you really want to do ? Get sources from darcs?
21:32:51<Lycurgus>right
21:33:28<MarcWeber>That's just darcs get <url> or darcs get --partial if you don't need all the history.
21:33:50<Lycurgus>i wish I had bet money as sure as I was you'd say that
21:34:09<MarcWeber>Lycurgus: So doesn't this work for you?
21:34:15<MarcWeber>Can you paste your commandline ?
21:34:31<Lycurgus>amy I ask if you are a native speaker of English?
21:34:35<Lycurgus>*may
21:34:39<MarcWeber>No I'm not.
21:35:01<Lycurgus>ok then, let me reprise my statement above.
21:35:25<Lycurgus>" I'm trying to figure out if when you do the darcs get are all the sources in darcs change sets and if so how do I get to them (just saying 'use darcs' is fine)?"
21:35:40<Lycurgus>the operative phrase is "get to them"
21:36:15<Lycurgus>in which refrence is implicitly made to the complete current sources which have already been darcs gotten.
21:36:40<MarcWeber>Maybe I don't understand because I'm not that familiar with darcs internals.
21:36:50<Lycurgus>or at least something which causes the build to complete and a working server to start.
21:37:23<Lycurgus>have you ever looked at it's sources other than the stub in Main.hs?
21:37:44<MarcWeber>Yes, I've tried to look at happs-state.
21:38:10<Lycurgus>and how did you do that?
21:38:26<MarcWeber>I got the source as described on happs.org.
21:38:41<MarcWeber>Then darcs should automatically create a "working copy" for you
21:39:24<Lycurgus>and is there a file associated with happs-state?
21:40:03<MarcWeber>Don't know exactly which Main.hs you are refering to. I only know about the Examples subdirs which contain module Main files not named Main.hs AFAIK
21:40:12<MarcWeber>Lycurgus: http://mawercer.de/~nix/repos/ Have a look at all .tar.gz starting with happs
21:40:22<MarcWeber>That are snapshots I've created for nix.
21:40:34<MarcWeber>(using darcs get and then removing _darcs)
21:40:43<Lycurgus>ah!
21:40:53<Lycurgus>then pull?
21:41:03<MarcWeber>Maybe this gives you some insight what you should get using darcs get ..
21:41:10<MarcWeber>No, there is no darcs info left.
21:41:25<MarcWeber>You need to use wget or your browser to download my snapshots.
21:43:12<Lycurgus>I see, yes, thanks very much. BTW you can use hochdeutsch at me if you don't mind English in return.
22:02:33<fxr>MarcWeber: nix rockz
22:03:05<MarcWeber>I know :)
22:05:21<MarcWeber>But you shoul tell this the developpers of nix. I'm only a user and contributor.
22:06:06<fxr>I did
