10:21:23<nomeata>hi. what is a good time of the day to find some people here?
10:46:32<MarcWeber>nomeata: Should be fine now (and the following 14h) (?)
10:47:00<MarcWeber>nomeata: Usually it's best to put the question or use the mailinglist..
10:47:19<MarcWeber>Which you've done.. I've read your post.
10:47:20<nomeata>MarcWeber: great :-). I’d like to hear other peoples opinion about the problem written here: http://groups.google.com/group/HAppS/browse_frm/thread/4065c842b1cfe7c7 (but maybe I
10:47:25<nomeata>’m too impatient)
10:47:32<MarcWeber>About a/ and a
10:49:36<nomeata>yes
10:49:40<MarcWeber>If it's not supported maybe ["a", ""] would be a nice representation for a/ but I don't know for sure.
10:51:49<nomeata>Maybe, although it might get in the way of developers that do not want to care for the difference
10:55:58<nomeata>hmm. I just added a rqUri field to the Request object, I think I’d be generally useful to have that. I’ll submit a patch, let’s see if they like it.
10:56:54<nomeata>hmm. I guess I should name it rqPath, as the Uri would include the query.
10:57:01<MarcWeber>Mmh what about ["a" "." ] ?
10:58:23<nomeata>MarcWeber: Would work too, I guess – I don’t know if the H
10:58:27<nomeata>(arg, sorry)
10:59:05<nomeata>if the HAppS developers would rather change the semantics of a "a/" url, or rather give the developer an optional hint what the uri was.
11:04:46<nomeata>ok, patch sent. I guess a rqUri field is always useful, no matter whether they want to handle splitList with trailing slashes differently.
22:09:44<int80_h>hi gang
22:09:50<Lemmih>Hiya.
22:10:00<int80_h>is the myprojects example working?
22:12:39<int80_h>you know, the one on the happs plsash page?
22:12:44<int80_h>splash
22:12:59<int80_h>cause if it isn't I will move on to some of the other example code
22:13:47<Lemmih>I think the best examples are in the HAppS-Server and HAppS-State repos.
22:13:55<int80_h>cool
22:14:50<int80_h>hmm, happs server isn't mentioned on the splash page methinks
22:16:15<povman>try going to http://happs.org/repos/happs.org
22:16:33<povman>i can't darcs it
22:17:27<Lemmih>int80_h: HAppS-HTTP is a mirror of it, I think.
22:17:39<int80_h>oh cool, I have HTTP
22:17:53<int80_h>I got Server, but I also recieved an error
22:18:07<int80_h>Applying patch 21 of 21... done.
22:18:07<int80_h>darcs: failed to read patch in get_extra:
22:18:07<int80_h>Wed Feb 6 23:50:46 CET 2008 Lemmih <lemmih@vo.com>
22:18:07<int80_h> * Clean HTTP types.
22:18:11<int80_h>Perhaps this is a 'partial' repository?
22:18:36<Lemmih>Yikes.
22:19:35<int80_h>is that bad? did I spam?
22:19:59<Lemmih>It shouldn't fail like that.
22:21:36<povman_>is anyone else getting Directory index forbidden on http://happs.org/repos/happs.org
22:22:19<int80_h>lemmih do you have a web browser on your server?
22:22:54<Lemmih>int80_h: I can install lynx/links if you want...
22:23:09<Lemmih>int80_h: Why do you want a web-browser?
22:23:21<int80_h>yes please. just so Ican test this code without wondering if I'm on an open port
22:23:33<int80_h>so Ican test on 127.0.0.1
22:23:53<int80_h>once I see something working I'll worry about seeing it fromthe outside
22:24:49<Lemmih>All the ports should be open. There shouldn't be any different from localhost to seize.it
22:25:00<int80_h>ah okay
22:25:05<int80_h>then this code is broken
22:26:01<Lemmih>What are you testing?
22:26:15<int80_h>on the splash page, there's something called Myprojects
22:26:19<int80_h>sp ghc -isrc src/Main.hs --make --run --http-port=5000
22:26:27<int80_h>is the final line to run the test
22:27:17<Lemmih>Works fine when I compile the binary.
22:27:53<int80_h>ghc-6.8.2: no input files
22:27:55<int80_h>Usage: For basic information, try the `--help' option.
22:28:00<int80_h>that's what I get
22:28:47<Lemmih>ghc --make Main.hs; ./Main
22:29:11<int80_h>so, don't use sp?
22:30:22<Lemmih>You don't need sp.
22:30:45<Lemmih>HAppS is already installed.
22:31:04<int80_h>okay something rends. looks like a ghc error
22:31:35<Lemmih>Looks good.
22:31:39<int80_h>Server error: Prelude.last: empty list
22:31:55<int80_h>yeah...now to mess with things
22:33:35<int80_h>the code refers to files. where can I find them, or alternatively, where would Iput them?
22:35:10<Lemmih>What files?
22:35:44<Lemmih>int80_h: You may be interested in HAppS-Server/Examples/set/
22:37:30<int80_h>README.html index.html, for example
22:37:53<int80_h>okay cool
22:41:21<nomeata>Lemmih: Hi. Just wondering: Do you have an opinion about the handling of trailing slashes in URLs?
22:41:43<Lemmih>nomeata: Yes, I do.
22:42:26<nomeata>Lemmih: :-). Will I read about it on the mailing list when you find time for that?
22:43:28<nomeata>ACTION hopes that this does not appear impatient or unfriendly, I’m just excited about my HAppS progress.
22:45:45<Lemmih>I'm probably too lazy. It is something that is broken and needs to be fixed. However, it isn't causing me immediate pain so I'll leave it for you guys.
22:48:42<Lemmih>Your patch looks good.
22:49:03<Lemmih>Pushed.
22:50:24<nomeata>great, thanks!
22:51:06<nomeata>(It’s encouraging, if I can find more stuff to contribute I’ll certainly do.)
23:03:08<Lemmih>Poke me if I forget about patches. My mails tend to drown in my mailbox.
23:04:34<nomeata>allright
