09:58:11<MarcWeber>chr1s: so Applicative is just another way to express the liftM<n> functions?
09:58:33<MarcWeber>Do you have an idea when Alternative is used?
10:31:09<dcoutts>Applicative ftw!
10:31:49<dcoutts>chr1s: Lemmih and I will be demoing the hackage-server at AngloHaskell tomorrow :-)
10:54:36<chr1s>dcoutts: cool!
10:54:44<chr1s>I'm afraid I won't be there, though ;)
10:54:56<dcoutts>chr1s: aye, a little far
10:55:15<dcoutts>chr1s: the most exciting thing is we've got initial build reporting working
10:55:43<dcoutts>so clients can upload metadata about packages they tried to build
10:55:53<dcoutts>and also associated build logs
11:01:26<chr1s>awesome! :D
20:52:41<joots>Hello! I'm trying out Happs (and Haskell) for the first time, following the instructions from the happs.org front page on my Ubuntu system. When I run "sp ghc -isrc src/Main.hs --make --run --http-port=5000", I get this "/home/joots/.SearchPath/darcs_get_--partial_--tag=0.9.2_http_happs.org-repos-HAppS-State/HAppS-State/src/HAppS/State/Types.hs:4:7: Could not find module `Control.Concurrent.STM':". Can anyone of you guys gi
20:54:23<Lemmih>joots: What version of GHC do you have?
20:55:23<joots>Lemmih: ghc6
20:55:34<Lemmih>joots: 6.8?
20:55:54<joots>Lemmih: 6.8.2
20:56:24<Lemmih>Install libghc6-stm-dev
20:56:54<Lemmih>Also, HAppS is easier to use with cabal-install than 'sp'.
20:57:33<Lemmih>http://hackage.haskell.org/cgi-bin/hackage-scripts/package/cabal-install
20:57:58<joots>Okay. Thanks for that information. I tried out the simple instructions on the happs.org front page. Seemed elegant enough.
20:59:30<joots>I can't seem to find that package with normal apt-get (a lot of other libghc6 packages are available, though). I'll try get it some other way.
21:00:03<Lemmih>You'll have to get most of the dependencies from source packages.
21:00:18<Lemmih>Cabal-install is like apt-get for Haskell source packages.
21:00:36<joots>Aha.
21:06:09<joots>Lemmih: Thanks a lot for the information. I will continue to try getting it working. Haskell is extremely interesting and Happs seems very attractive too, so I look forward to exploring these domains a bit.
23:19:13<jbapple>In "News" on the happs front page, the author asks "how does it look"
23:19:50<jbapple>I was about to say something about the page width but I think I'll just file a bug report
23:19:58<jbapple>tata
