15:43:12<dcoutts>chr1s: ping
18:32:54<chr1s>dcoutts: pong.
18:33:13<chr1s>dcoutts: I've been meaning to work on the conversion to HTML, but didn't quite get to it.
18:33:40<chr1s>but it's the first thing I'm going to do after my exam tomorrow ;)
18:34:24<dcoutts>chr1s: oh, good luck with the exam
18:34:52<dcoutts>chr1s: would it be ok for me to use some of those examples of the new design in an announcement for the server?
18:35:08<dcoutts>or in a talk I'm doing on Thursday
18:36:28<chr1s>dcoutts: of course! that'd be great!
18:36:41<dcoutts>chr1s: cool, thanks
18:37:04<chr1s>so is the visual design the only thing you're still waiting for? if so, we'll try to hurry up a bit more ;)
18:37:16<dcoutts>chr1s: no, no, there's plenty to do for the server
18:37:25<chr1s>ah, ok.
18:37:30<dcoutts>chr1s: but I'd like to announce it's existence sooner
18:37:37<chr1s>yes, that'd be great
18:37:41<dcoutts>and explain some of the design decisions etc
18:37:48<dcoutts>even if it's not directly usable yet
18:38:09<dcoutts>I'm doing at talk at the London Haskell Users Group on Thursday about the Haskell Platform and stuff, so it'd be nice to talk a bit about the new server
18:38:24<chr1s>dcoutts: we are actively thinking about how to market Tupil right now, might be interesting for you guys as well. I'm not sure whether you're even in need of marketing, but still.
18:38:29<chr1s>ah, great!
18:38:44<dcoutts>chr1s: and what were you thinking about marketing?
18:38:52<dcoutts>that hackage is a good advert? :-)
18:38:57<dcoutts>at least potentially
18:39:03<chr1s>no, it doesn't really have to do with hackage
18:39:11<dcoutts>ah, 'k
18:39:48<chr1s>I'm not sure whether the regular haskell users are our customers...
18:40:00<dcoutts>chr1s: right, you've probably got a wider potential customer base than we do
18:40:14<chr1s>so we're going to focus on companies inside The Netherlands
18:40:20<dcoutts>where as we are only really marketing to existing Haskell users
18:40:53<chr1s>yes, it's a really different group
18:41:28<chr1s>but giving talks and lectures is one good way to promote yourself
18:41:45<dcoutts>indeed
18:41:58<chr1s>btw: we were at a Ruby meeting last Monday
18:42:04<dcoutts>chr1s: get a marketing book for consultants or something
18:42:12<chr1s>and 2 out of 5 talks were strictly about Haskell!
18:42:20<chr1s>yes, that'd be a good idea.
18:42:37<dcoutts>chr1s: heh, cool
